services to University systems and data.
Access Support Services - AIS Support Center
Who are we?
We are the central support for all Penn State University (PSU) administrative
computing users. It is our responsibility to serve the user community
by setting up computer usage accounts, granting access to specific applications
and then finally assisting with implementation and use. Our mission is
to provide effective assistance to all employees using administrative
computing systems and applications to accomplish their work objective
or reporting need. Our phone line is operational 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
daily providing 50 hours weekly.

How are support calls handled?
We currently support over 36 different systems. This number continues
to increase as new applications are developed and maintained by AIS. All
incoming calls are recorded within an Access database. Each call is answered
by a first level staff member, information about the problem is collected
and entered into the database. If the problem can't be resolved by the
first level support person, it is then escalated to a second level staff
member. Although all support staff possess a general knowledge of most
areas, more involved problems are escalated when needed. A timely resolution
is what we strive for and those problems that require second-level intervention
are resolved within an hour.

The Computer Accounts Office is responsible for establishing and maintaining
methods and procedures that control the access to, allocation of, and
charging for computing resources. This group also monitors and reports
the resource utilization of facilities and services.
Contact this office or see the Web site to obtain application forms for
a variety of computer accounts. Staff at this office can also assist with
user ID and password questions and problems. Users can contact Account
