Server Outage Alert

On Tuesday, January 15, 2002, the Center for Academic Computing experienced server outages between 2:45 and 4:10 p.m. This affected e-mail, WebMail, Web space, and dial-in, which were fixed by approximately 3:00 p.m. In addtion, the outgoing mail server smtp.psu.edu experienced a failure at approximately 3:30 p.m. and was restored by 4:10 p.m. Please note that e-mail messages were not "lost" during this outage. Please note that all Internet services are tested daily between 5:30 and 7:30 a.m. During this time, one or more services may not be available. The CAC systems status page shows the current status of servers. We apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused and we appreciate your patience during this time.
