Update to Network Time Protocol (NTP) Server clock.cac.psu.edu
Effective July 1, 2002

posted on May 20, 2002

As of July 1, 2002, Academic Services and Emerging Technologies (ASET) will update its Network Time Protocol (NTP) server from clock.cac.psu.edu to clock.aset.psu.edu. As a result, clock.cac.psu.edu will be decommissioned as of July 1, 2002. While clock.cac.psu.edu will point to clock.aset.psu.edu prior to July 1, it is recommended that all users update their date and time preferences from clock.cac.psu.edu to clock.aset.psu.edu as soon as possible. This change does not affect the NTP server clock.psu.edu.

Please also note that the IP address 146.186.15.48 (clock.cac.psu.edu) will no longer work as of July 1, 2002. If this information is "hard coded" in preferences for date and time, then it will need to be changed to clock.aset.psu.edu.

For assistance, please direct inquiries to helpdesk@psu.edu.

Please note that all systems are scheduled for daily maintenance between 5:30 and 7:30 a.m. During this time, one or more Internet services may not be available. The ITS systems status page shows the current status of servers.
