Creating form letters with Eudora's stationery feature

Do you find yourself often typing the same piece of mail to different people? Maybe it's just a one-liner "Please take me off your mailing list," or maybe it's a complicated answer to a frequently asked question. In either case, Eudora Pro offers a solution with its stationery feature. Stationery allows you to type a canned response just once, then use it as stationery via Eudora Pro's New Message With or Reply With menu.

Here's how. First make sure you are running Eudora Pro 3.0 or later. Open a new message and type in the canned message plus any appropriate headers. Select Save As from the File menu. In the next screen, name the file and click the Stationery option. If you're on a Mac, you need to also click Go to Stationery Folder; Windows chooses the Stationery folder automatically. Next save the file and delete the message you used to create it. That's it; you've created stationery!

When you want to later use the stationery, choose New Message With or Reply With (both are in the Message menu), and select the appropriate stationery. You can now of course alter the message in any way you'd like before sending it. To change a stationery file, open it with New Message With, make your changes, and again save it with Save As as explained above.

Using stationery can make your e-mailing tasks much simpler, and this feature is one that is easy to learn and use. Happy e-mailing!
