Introduction

Before or during 1999, the CAC recommends updating any previous CACTWIN clients by obtaining the CAC Internet Software Distribution called CACPAC Version 1.1 and above; please follow the install instructions there. CACPAC has been and is available as a CD free to anyone with a Penn State Access Account. The site-licensed software is also available via: http://ftp.cac.psu.edu/access/cd/. Year 2000 Readiness of CACPAC Internet Clients

WSFTP PRO Version 5 Provides Year 2000 support through Dec 31, 2037. CAC distributes WSFTP LE(Limited Edition) Version 4.60 for which there is no vendor warranty for Year 2000 Compliance. Thus to get warranted Y2K readiness one would need to purchase WSFTP Pro, Version 5 or above (about $36 for a single copy) or an equivalent product; or use Netscape or Internet Explorer to FTP. Netscape is reported by its vendor to be Year 2000 compliant from Versions 2.02 up to the current version (4.07). For more information please see: http://help.netscape.com/kb/client/980928-4.html

Hummingbird Host Explorer for Windows is certified by Hummingbird, Inc. as being Year 2000 ready. If you are still running CACPAC client McGill TCP3270 you should upgrade to Host Explorer.
