Important note for users of the TSM (formerly ADSM)
backup service

Many faculty and staff have an ADSM account which provides a remote tape backup for their computer and workstation files. This service usually runs quietly in the background. However, you should review the logs on a regular basis to make sure it is working properly. The server has no way of knowing whether the client is doing what you have planned. On Windows and Unix machines, you should look at the "dsmerror.log" and "dsmsched.log" files. On Mac OS, look at the files called "ADSM Schedule Log" and "ADSM Error Log". By default, these files are stored with the other ADSM files. Use your machine's search facility if you are having trouble finding them.

For information on starting this service, see http://cac.psu.edu/accounts/adsm.html.
