The Visualization Group, part of Graduate Education and Research Services (GEaRS) at the CAC, conducts ongoing investigations into emerging visual computing technologies in order to facilitate the integration of such tools into research and instructional programs at Penn State. Focus areas at present for the group include investigations into programming tools for interactive graphics and virtual reality (VR) development; applications for 3-D modeling, animation, and design previsualization; scientific and engineering data visualization; and cross-platform, network-extensible graphics.
Visualization Group staff offer seminars and consulting in these and related subject areas to assist Penn State research teams whose work can benefit from better use of interactive graphics and visualization techniques.
The group provides support to faculty and students from any college of the University. The group also provides hardcopy output support services for large-format color plotting and videotape transfer of computer graphics images.
