New Photoshop Tutorial Helps Save Time

By Elise Hines

Do you have a lot of images to organize and display on the Web? Are you tired of manually resizing images and creating Web pages to display your images online? With the help of Adobe Photoshop 6 and the newest Faculty Multimedia Center (FMC) tutorial, you can create a Web photo gallery in minutes without having to know HTML.

If you have a group of images, a gallery is a quick and easy way to make them available online. Creating an image gallery allows you to organize and display images so your audience can navigate through and view them easily. With the guidance of the FMC Photoshop Image Gallery Tutorial at http://cac.psu.edu/fmc/pgallery/, you can create an image gallery in just a few minutes. By following this six-step tutorial, you can use Photoshop to automatically create groups of thumbnails and to resize gallery images. You can also use it to control the look and feel of Web pages, and create and organize all of the necessary HTML and image files into folders. When finished, all you have to do is upload your newly created gallery to the Web.

This tutorial is one of the many online multimedia tutorials provided by FMC. To view all of the tutorials that FMC offers, visit http://cac.psu.edu/fmc/, and click on "Tutorials." If you need a multimedia solution for a problem or question not covered in the tutorials, visit our Web site at http://cac.psu.edu/fmc/, and click on "Contact Us" to fill out our Web form. Faculty members who would like to schedule an appointment for consultation or to use our hardware and software resources can call FMC at 814-863-7051.

The Faculty Multimedia Center is located at 226 Computer Building, which is on the corner of Curtin and Bigler Roads on the University Park campus. The lab is available free of charge to faculty members teaching resident education courses.
