Faculty who would like short-term, one-on-one tutoring in their offices on basic ANGEL skills and the computer skills needed to use ANGEL may request an ANGEL tutor. ANGEL, Penn State's Course Management System, allows instructors to post a syllabus, add course files, establish threaded discussions, administer quizzes, collect assignments, and manage grades from one online location without the need to know HTML.
Student tutors can begin right away and will meet with faculty one to four times at mutually convenient times. The tutor you are matched with will be responsive to your goals and challenges as you prepare to use ANGEL, plan how best to use ANGEL in your courses, and gain hands-on practice with ANGEL and other skills.
If interested, faculty should complete a brief application form at http://tlt.its.psu.edu/support/angeltutors/. The form includes a checklist of topics for tutoring and asks you to list the times you are available. If you have any questions, you may e-mail angeltutors@psu.edu.
The ANGEL Tutors program is sponsored by the Schreyer Honors College, College of Information Sciences and Technology, the Commonwealth College, the Instructional Systems program of the College of Education, and Teaching and Learning with Technology, a unit of Information Technology Services.
