  • A non-English speaker calls your organization for service or information
  • You need to call a person/business of a different language
  • Whenever you are unable to communicate because of language differences via phone or person-person

What Is It?

Information Technology Services (ITS) contracted with Language Services Associates to provide over-the-phone language interpretation services for over 150 languages at the best rates researched.

Language Services Associates give you quick access to an interpreter who can help you communicate with associates of other languages.

How does it work?

In short you will need to contact the Penn State Operator at 865-4700 and supply the following information:

  • Your Name
  • Your Phone Number
  • The budget/fund/project information for the use of language services (rates are below)
  • The language you need interpreted
  • The telephone number (if you are calling out to an associate)

The Penn State Operator will then put you on hold while he/she contacts the Language Services Interpreter. Once confirmations and approvals are processed (approx 30-40 seconds) the Penn State operator will then conference you with the interpreter.

You may now communicate.
