To access the Web, go to a Macintosh or Windows computer at
one of the ITS computing labs and log in with your Penn State Access Account
user ID and password.
On a Macintosh computer, double-click the “software” icon, then
double-click the “Internet Explorer” icon or the “Netscape
Lite” icon.
On a Windows computer, double-click the “Netscape Communicator”
or “Internet Explorer” icon. The Penn State “home
page” on the Web should appear within seconds (http://www.psu.edu/).
Choose
“Info Tech” on Penn State’s
home page to find more information about computer services and resources.
It contains instructions for accessing the Internet, along with a number of need-to-know items that might be useful to have in a computing emergency, such as who to call for help and where the nearest lab is. Printed guides are available at Help Desks located in 2 Willard Building and 215 Computer Building. You can also find Your Guide to Information Technology Services on the Web.
