Adding EndNote as a Word Add-in
Depending on whether you installed EndNote before or after you installed Word,
it may be the case that the Endnote addin is not available to Word.
Without it you can not use the Cite While You Write facility.
If this is the case then follow these steps to add EndNote as a global startup addin:
- While in PsuThesi, pull down
[Toolbox]>(System Tools) >(Display Word’s Startup Path)
and write down Word's "startup" path.
- Exit from Word
- You will then need to locate 2 EndNote files.
These will tend to be located in the EndNote folder within the Program Files folder.
- Select the two files above/shown below and copy them.

EndNote 5
|
EndNote 6
|
EndNote 7
|
EndNote 7
|
EndNote5.CWYW.dot
EndNote5.Cwyw.wll
|
EN6CWYW.dot
EN6Cwyw.wll
|
EN7CWYW.dot
EN7Cwyw.wll
|
EN7CWYW.dot
EN7Cwyw.WordXP.wll
|
- Then go to the folder path displayed in step 1 and paste the two files you copied in step 3.
. . .
- Then restart Word and
pull down
[Tools]>(EndNote)
which should be available.
