Why do my Author-Date references appear as [ ] instead of [Minsker 2003]?

If you are using Author-Date referencing from a Bibliography.doc file at the end of your thesis, PsuThesi versions prior to version 1.4 had a bug when cross-references were created in the Chapter#.doc files. The visual effect of this bug happens when you open a file and you were expecting to see [Minsker 2003], but instead you see [ ] . You can correct old references using the following steps:
  1. Open the file Bibliography.doc.
  2. Pull down
    [Helper]>(PsuThesi Fixes)>(Bibliography Fixer)>(unHide Author Date) .

  3. Open a Chapter#.doc file which needs correction. The references should now be correct.
  4. Pull down [Edit]>(Links) (see below).
  5. Press Ctrl+Home
  6. Press Ctrl+Shift+End
  7. Check “Preserve formatting after update
  8. Press OK.
  9. "Close" and "Save" the Chapter#.doc file
  10. Repeat steps 3-9 for any other file requiring correction, then ...

  11. "Close", but do NOT "Save" the Bibliography.doc file.
If you accidently save the Bibliography.doc file with the Author-Date information visually appearing, you can hide the information again using:
[Helper]>(PsuThesi Fixes)>(Bibliography Fixer)>(Hide Author Date) .
and then save the file.
