Why won't the website let me download PsuThesi?

Some internet service providers or local area networks, particularly in some departments on campus, have installed what are called "firewalls" which may prevent you from downloading from external sites. If you find you can not get the software you need, send email to the author requesting what you want. You can just click here: txm@psu.edu

  • How do I upgrade to a new version of Psuthesi?

    When you are ready to upgrade PsuThesi versions,
  • go to the "Download" link;
  • select Windows or Macintosh;
  • go to the "Former Users" link;

    Then open and upzip the file for the program template file PsuThesi.dot. Respond yes when asked if you want to replace the existing one in your Mythesis folder.

  • Can I switch to PsuThesi 1.0 (New Edition) from the old edition Psuthesi 2.2?

    The answer is yes and no. The old version is not literally upgradable to the new edition, but you could install the New Edition, create new files and then insert the text from your old files. There is a section in the new User's Guide on "importing text". Basically what you will do is open a new thesis file, position the cursor accordingly at "Start here" and then insert your old text into the new file using Word's [Insert]>(File...) .

  • Can I switch from PsuLight to PsuThesi?

    Yes, with the release of PsuThesi in January, 2003. Go to the PsuThesi website "download" link and just open and unzip the file for the PsuThesi.dot program template in your current PsuLight thesis folder. From then on, instead of opening PsuLight.dot, just open PsuThesi.dot.
