Lists for Figures, Tables, Equations and Heading Numbers

    Discussion

    • Most lists presented to you will look like that shown in [A]. When you select an item from the list, two things happen: (a) the selection pointer in the active document is moved to the source of the item you are referencing so you can see it in context, and (b) the value which will become the reference is shown in [B]. [image]

    • Note that the value shown in [B] represents the automatic numerical portion of the reference. The actual reference text which will be inserted in your document will based on your thesis settings. In our example, the actual reference might be Figure 2-2, Fig. 2-2 or just 2-2. [image]

    Lists for Bibliographies

    • Bibliography reference lists [C-D] are displayed in a slightly different way for two reasons: (a) there are 4 different referencing styles supported in PsuThesi, and (b) when you define bibliography entries, you are required to supply an identifier [C] which is displayed in reference list area. [image]

    • Note in our example dialog, the entrys shown in [D] are likely to be truncated (...) so that they fit within the window. Thus, particularly with author-date references, the combination of displaying the reference value, [E], and the identifiers, [C], should help you locate the correct entry, especially when there are multiple entries for the same author.
